Chicago Import Quarantine (CIQ) has been in business since April of 2011 when it first opened its doors to 6 horses from Europe that went on to compete at the Rolex Championships.  Since that evening, CIQ has grown each year and hosted some of the world’s finest racehorses, breeding stallions, equestrian horses, and countless prized possessions of our local clients.  Over the course of the 12 years, CIQ has been located in Arlington Heights and has enjoyed a successful relationship with Arlington Park Racetrack.  We are now very excited to announce that we have moved to a brand new, purpose built facility located in West Dundee, just 30 minutes from O’Hare Airport. The new import quarantine provides a peaceful, safe, and secure environment to make your horse’s transition to becoming a USA horse as easy as possible. CIQ is located on a 29 acre property and is USDA approved & licensed.

 

The original and current owners are Matt Haug and Quentin Wallace who have well over 50 years’ experience in the international equine business. Matt and Quentin are very proud that CIQ has evolved and grown from 24 stalls to 42 stalls while still providing that individual care for your horse.  CIQ’s mission continues to be to provide horse owners an alternative location to import their horses into a centralized location within the USA that provides a first class facility with first class care for ALL breeds. CIQ is staffed with experienced horseman and horsewoman to provide the best possible care.  CIQ is supported by Chicago O’Hare Airport’s abundant flight options from many different locations from around the world making it an ideal port to import horses.
